FUN LIFE HACKS FOR THE RV
The RV lifestyle wouldn’t be complete without learning a few life hacks to make life easier. Here are a few simple, yet random life hacks that will make your camping experience easier and don’t forget HAPPIER!
Cleaning the screen door: Trying to get into all those small cracks while cleaning your screen door can be a pain but luckily, we have discovered a new & easy way to make it look like new. Simply remove your screen door from the hinges (it should be connected by only a few screws) & place it on the ground. The easiest way to get it looking like new is to use a bucket of soapy water, a brush and the hose. You’ll be mad you didn’t think of it earlier!
Coffee: Because who doesn’t need their daily cup of coffee? Don’t leave home without your coffee maker. Early mornings won’t be the same without your cup of coffee
Packing:The key to a great pack job is to store the heavier items in the lower compartments while the lighter ones can be stored in elevated surfaces. Isn’t it frustrating when all your packed equipment starts to slide around when in route? Simply strategize where to place your items to avoid the shifting of equipment & to ultimately make your travel experience easier.
Flashlights:Use a broom holder to store your flashlights for easy access.
Weather Alert Radio: Although your RV may seem big and indestructible, it is actually more vulnerable in intense weather conditions than we may think. Being prepared for serve weather is important because large sized hail can damage the exterior of your RV and strong winds have the ability to overturn the RV as well. Getting an alert radio will help prevent these issues because if you have a warning you can prepare for the weather conditions and seek appropriate shelter or even move locations entirely.
Ventilation: Nobody likes when the inside your RV is warmer than the actual air outside. The first thing you want to do is shut all your windows on the sunny side of your RV and open up the vents on the door so that the warm air will be pumped out and the cool air will be let in. Since warm air rises the cool air will remain and the warm air will be push out through the vents. A small tip is to open up your storage cupboards once the outside temperatures cool, this will help release any heat that is being trapped and built up.
Dollar Store Magazine File: This is a great and easy way to organize paper goods wiling cabinets
Shoes: Use a shoe organizer that can hang on the back of the door to keep your RV cluster free and well-organized. If you don’t have a door that is compatible you can easily pin it up to shorten the organizer so it will fit on a smaller door. (Another use for a shoe organizer can be to keep your shower storage nice and tidy.)
Safety Emergency Tip: Attach a small dry erase board onto a cupboard door or open surface in your RV with the information of the campground, address, phone number, and spot number so that in case there is an emergency you will be panic free with the information you need to have help on its way. Also, if you are aware of this information already you can use it as a reminder board by leaving notes or grocery lists.
Heat Loss Prevention: In the colder months it is easy for heat to escape your RV. Simply place a vent cushion to keep your heat trapped inside so you and your family can stay warm and cozy.
Pine-Sol: Use a 50% water, 50% pine-sol mixture to wipe down your counter-tops, tables, awnings, etc. will help prevent flies from coming near your mobile home.
Safe Shelves: Pick your favorite non-slip liners to line all your shelves to prevent broken glasses or bowls.
No More Wasps: Get rid of unwanted wasps by cutting up flea collar. Since wasps are naturally attracted to the smell and taste of propane they can welcome themselves into unwanted areas making your life a little harder. By cutting up a flea collar and placing it within different RV compartments, you can easily keep them away.
Laundry: Insert a suspension rod inside the shower so you can hang dry all your freshly cleaned clothes. This allows your clothes to air dry without the risks of any outdoor conditions.
Spray Paint: Replenish your sun-faded plastic parts with a new coat of spray paint. This will keep your RV looking new throughout the years.
Road Trips: Use a few shower caddies with suction cups to hold different road necessities like snacks, maps or gaming devices for the kids. This is a great way to stay organized while on the road without having to rummage through a big bag.
Remotes: Group your remotes in one location by using Velcro strips so that
